After leaving Atlanta we encountered the surprise of the trip when we went to the Montgomery Alabama Zoo. This zoo of medium size has wide open spaces with many species within view most of the time. The walking path is circular around the outside of the exhibits offering many viewing angles for the enclosed exhibits. The Montgomery Zoo is not large enough to be a destination site but, it is a zoo that you must see if you are in the area. The Indian rhino in the photo came right up to us and showed a great deal of interest in interacting with us as we looked down at her from behind a rail. We were told she is due for a baby.
